Cornish Language

Go Cornish

To encourage children to be proud of our Cornish heritage, we have signed up to the ‘Go Cornish’ programme and are working towards our bronze award. This involves embedding the Cornish language, culture and heritage into our school community.

We have begun introducing simple phrases in Cornish throughout the day, bilingual signage to some areas, introducing some Cornish into our curriculum and ensuring we explore the local environment.

We will keep you updated on our progress, in the meantime here are some Cornish phrases your children may have been using in school. Mar pleg (please) encourage them to use them at home also.

Meur ras | thank you

Myttin da | good morning
