A Brilliant Book Day

Class 4 had so much fun on Friday. It was Penpol Book Day! The school missed World Book Day due to the snowy weather but we made up for it in style. Everybody dressed up as their favourite book character and Class 4 were dressed to impress. Check out some of our photos…

I was dressed up as the wolf man and I was so excited because I won a prize for the dressing up competition. – Flynn

The children and the parents put in a huge effort in making the costumes. The children looked fantastic. They brought in their favourite stories from home and shared them with the class.

I’m Mr Strong. Mum and Dad helped me make my costume. I love it. – Zak

Georgia and Tacita dressed up as Goldilocks.

I dressed up as the rainbow fish. I helped my mum make the costume and my mum wore the same costume to her school for their book day. – Ada.

Goldilocks and the 3 Bears

Well done class 4.

All aboard The Titanic!

Year 2 having been learning all about the Titanic, investigating and researching the questions:

  • What happened?
  • Who did and didn’t survive?
  • Where were they going?
  • Why did it happen?
  • How could the disaster have been avoided?

They have really enjoyed compiling facts, colouring pictures, watching clips on the internet, discussing events, compiling a timeline of events and as you can see making some marvellous models at home!

It took me a couple of weeks to make and my dad helped me. The Grand staircase was very special but my favourite bit was when it sank! – Remy – Class 5

My mum helped me, it was tricky sticking the sticks in and I enjoyed painting on the lighted windows – Agnes – Class 5

My model moves. It crashes into the iceberg because I’ve used a magnet    Austin

Winter Woodland Magic

On Monday Class 5 were very excited as they set off to see the magical Winter Woodland show.

They encountered fairies in the woods, tied ribbons around the wishing tree and munched on a bag of sweets.

We all then settled down on comfy cushions in the big tent with blankets and a hot chocolate to listen to Old Man Winter tell the magical story of twin sisters who go in search of their lost parents, encountering friends and danger along the way, including a mad hare, a mysterious stag and Uncle Christmas!

Fabulous!  Ben

The children had a wonderful time, thoroughly enjoying the show and joining in with the singing!

It was brilliant and I loved it!        Chloe

I want to go every year!  Dylan

Ada tumbles into 2nd place for her Gymnastic club

Ada was selected to take part in the Amigo’s Tumbling Competition for her Gymnastic club, Phoenix in Camborne. Her gymnastic club Phoenix competed against the Zero Gravity gymnastics squad who travelled down from Saltash to compete.

Ada completed three solo tumble track runs and came an amazing 2nd place for her age category. This was Ada’s first official competition and she was delighted to come away with a silver medal. She is looking forward to many more competitions to come.

I love gymnastics because you can do really cool things. I can do a one-handed cartwheel and the splits – Ada – Class 3 – Year 1
